Many of us returned from Walt Disney World just a week ago from a wonderful experience with our PPV team and many have been back in the last month with their families.  It has been interesting and exciting to watch things evolve over the course of each trip.  On this visit our team all agreed, things just felt normal.  It was very refreshing and really left us all with a huge appreciation for all Disney and it’s cast members have done over the last year to make sure that everyone’s safety and well-being were a top priority but also to make sure that everyone could still enjoy the magic.  We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, nobody does it like Disney.  They have been a phenomenal travel partner to work with throughout this last year.

As we are progressing in the right direction, we are starting to see some changes coming our way!

MASKS- As we are sure you heard, yesterday the CDC announced that those who are vaccinated do not need to wear masks.  Of course this immediately made all of us Disney vacationers say, “How will this affect the mask policy in the Disney parks?”  Since this all came about yesterday, there isn’t an official timeline/plan in place for the Disney parks but Bob Chapek, Disney CEO,  did make some comments in reference to the new guidelines saying that this is “big news” for Walt Disney World.   This will be the all the buzz on social media and news outlets, many of which will do a lot of speculation.  Please be cautious and consider the source.  Know that PPV Inc. will always share factual information provided to us by Disney and communicate that immediately to you.

CAPACITY-Yesterday it was also stated that they will begin to increase capacity in the Walt Disney World parks.  This is another “hot” topic that you have to consider the source on.  There are a few things to remember when thinking capacity:

  1. Increasing capacity is a GOOD thing! This means that more cast members are being called back to the jobs they love and it means even more experiences are able to make their comeback.
  2. Capacity is relative to the season.  Some will panic thinking 100% capacity is happening now.  It’s not.  In fact, parks don’t reach 100% capacity in a normal year but maybe a few times such as Christmas day or New Year’s Eve.  So while, yes, we will be able to welcome more guests in the parks than any other time since reopening, it’s not going to be completely full.

SOCIAL DISTANCING- In some outdoor areas of the parks and resorts, social distancing has been reduced from 6 feet to 3 feet.  Indoor markers remain at 6 feet.

TEMPERATURE CHECKS- Starting May 16, temperature screenings to enter the parks, Disney Springs and resorts will no longer take place.

DINING PLANS- Disney fully intends to bring the dining plans back, it’s just a matter of time.  If they return before your travel dates, we will be able to add to your package.  We know many of you are anxiously awaiting their return and so are we!  As soon as they do, your PPV Inc agent will discuss the options with you and see what is best for your travel party.

FASTPASSES- We haven’t heard anything about their return from Disney yet.  But don’t worry, as soon as we have official info, we will share!

We can’t even begin to tell you how excited our whole team has been over the last few days.  It has been a long year for everyone and seeing the light at the end of the tunnel is just the best.  The magic is here, it never went away, but now, it’s even better than before!
